Dr. Marija Mihova
Born in 1976 in Štip. She completed her primary and secondary education in Štip. She has received several awards in math and physics competitions. She graduated in 1999 with a degree in Mathematics from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and in 2004 she defended her master's thesis on the topic “Modeling the Reliability of Multi-State Systems,” earning a Master of Mathematical Sciences degree. She was appointed a junior assistant at the Institute of Informatics in 2001, and an assistant in 2005. At the Institute of Informatics, she taught exercises in the subjects: Sets, Vectors and Matrices, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus, Mathematical Logic for Computer Scientists, Mathematics 1, Discrete Structures, and Statistics. She also taught Statistics 2 for mathematics students, Mathematical Methods in Chemistry for chemistry students, and Statistics for geography students. Her main area of scientific interest is systems reliability. She is also interested in other areas of probability, statistics, combinatorics, etc. She has published around 30 papers and has presented more than 30 papers at conferences and workshops. She has participated in 3 research projects and 2 projects for the advancement of education. She is a member of the Center for Digitization of the National Heritage of Macedonia, as well as the Society of Mathematicians of Macedonia and the Society of Informaticians of Macedonia. As an active member of the Association of Informaticians, she has participated in organizing numerous regional and national Informatics competitions and Macedonian Informatics Olympiads since 2001. She is currently a member of the Executive Board of the AIMA. She was also on the organizing committee for the Balkan Olympiad in Informatics in 2008. She was the leader of the Macedonian team at two Balkan Olympiads in Informatics in 2008 and 2009. She is a reviewer for a fourth-grade textbook for primary education. Marija was also a member of the Organizing Committee of the First SEEDI Conference DIGITAL (re-)DISCOVERY of CULTURE (PHYSICALITY OF SOUL) – Playing. Digital. She is a member of the program committee for two scientific conferences and an editor of a conference proceedings volume.
