Dr. Miroslav Mirchev
Miroslav Mirchev was born in 1986 in Sv. Nikole. He graduated in 2008 from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the University “St. Cyril and Methodius” in Skopje, majoring in Informatics and Computer Engineering. He received his master's degree from the same faculty in 2009 in the field of computer networks and e-technologies, with a master's thesis on the topic “Modeling of non-Poissonian processes of virus propagation in computer networks” under the mentorship of Acad. Prof. Dr. Lupcho Kocarev. In 2007, he began working as a teaching assistant at the Institute of Computer Science and Informatics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology in Skopje, and in 2010, he was appointed junior assistant. In 2010, he was on a several-month research fellowship at City University in Hong Kong. In 2011, he began doctoral studies at the Polytechnic University of Turin, and during his studies, he also completed a six-month stay at the University of California, San Diego in the USA and a three-month stay at the Jožef Stefan Institute in Ljubljana. He completed his doctoral studies in 2014, defending his doctoral thesis titled "Cooperative Processes in Complex Networks with Imperfections" under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Mario Bijei, Prof. Dr. Fernando Corinto, and Acad. Prof. Dr. Lupcho Kocarev. In 2014, he was elected an associate professor at the Faculty of Informatics and Computer Engineering in Skopje, and in 2019, he became a full professor at the same faculty. His fields of research are network science, complex systems, machine learning, artificial intelligence, computer networks, optical networks, etc. To date, he has published numerous research papers in renowned international journals and conferences and has participated in several international and national research projects, as well as in several applied professional projects. He has served as a member of the program committee for several international conferences and as the chair of one international conference.
