Dr. Snezhana Cherepnalkovska-Dukovska
She was born in Skopje, where she graduated in 1992 from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies (FEIT) at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, in the field of software for ensuring availability in distributed environments, within the Computer Science and Automation programme. She obtained her master’s degree from the same faculty in 2006 in the field of systems engineering, with a thesis on the application of a fuzzy neural system in bank liquidity planning. In 2011, she obtained her doctorate from the Faculty of Contemporary Sciences and Technologies at South East European University in Tetovo, in computer science, with a specialisation in artificial intelligence, on models of consciousness and the application of fuzzy logical granules to agent attributes.
She is employed by the National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia as an internal IT auditor. Her activities include risk-based auditing of information-technology processes and functions, consulting on the implementation of new information-systems technologies, and monitoring current trends and best practices. She previously worked as an independent programmer and systems designer in the Bank’s Information Technology Directorate. The most significant projects from that period in which she directly participated in the design and development were the National Bank Credit Registry information system and the electronic platform for auctions of central-bank bills and government securities. She has attended numerous training courses and seminars at the central banks of the Netherlands, Germany and Italy.
She previously worked on the development of industrial software for process monitoring and automation. The most significant projects and applications from this period included developing communication protocols for OMRON programmable logic controllers (PLCs), an information system for monitoring wheat transport to silos, and a system for recording electrical measurements at an electricity dispatch centre.
She is currently engaged as an adjunct assistant professor in undergraduate and postgraduate courses in computer science and informatics.
Her principal area of expertise and professional interest is models of consciousness represented through hybrid intelligent systems, as well as risk-assessment methodologies and systems.
She is a member of the Technical Committee on Information and Communication Technology at the Institute for Standardisation of the Republic of North Macedonia (ISRSM-TC 34) and holds the international ISO 27001 Lead Auditor information-security certificate. She is also a member of the Association of Internal Auditors of Macedonia, the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA, Florida).
