Dr. Vangel Ajanovski

He was born in 1975 in Skopje. He completed elementary and secondary vocational school in Skopje, graduating as an IT technician. He is the recipient of several awards at the national high school competitions in informatics, mathematics, and physics. In 1993, he enrolled in the Informatics program at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Skopje, which he completed in 1999 as the top graduating student of the Department of Informatics, earning the degree of Bachelor of Science in Informatics. On the occasion of the University's 50th anniversary in 2000, he received an award for his work „Online Exam Registration System“ as the best project in the field of computer science. He was appointed a professional associate in 2000, a junior assistant in 2002, and an assistant in 2007, a position he transferred to at FINK in 2011. In 2013, he was elected an associate professor at FINKI. In 2006, he completed his postgraduate studies by defending his master's thesis titled “Public Information Systems and Information Portals.” In 2013, he defended his doctoral dissertation titled “Adaptive and Social Self-Structuring Systems for Navigation through Public Information Systems.“ He participates in the II teaching process as an assistant instructor for the following subjects: databases, databases 2, information systems, analysis and logical design of IS, physical design and implementation of IS, computer graphics, teamwork, multimedia, operations research, system software, computer network design, programming systems, mathematical logic and algebra, Introduction to Informatics for Physicists, Introduction to Informatics for Chemists, and Introduction to Informatics at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Food. In 2003, he participated in the establishment of the regional CISCO Academy, where he serves as a regional instructor for CCNA courses. As a collaborator at the Institute of Informatics, he participated in the implementation of approximately 30 international and domestic projects, the most significant of which are the projects for the advancement of the MARNet and UGIM network and network services (SINSEE, NATO, UNESCO-HP, SEEGRID, SEEREN, GEANT) is currently the leader of the Macedonian part of the team within the Network Factory activity of the GEANT3 project. He participated in the establishment of the information system at the Faculty of Informatics (II), as well as at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics (PMF) since 1996. He has participated in several TEMPUS and DAAD projects for the reconstruction of the curricula for computer science and informatics studies, as well as for universities in neighboring countries. He participated in the establishment of laboratories for videoconferencing, computer graphics, operating systems, databases, multimedia, and distance education. From 2005 to 2009, he was the head of the Computer Center at the Faculty of Informatics. He was the architect and principal or co-principal investigator for most of the II's network infrastructure and computer services. He has published 16 scientific papers in journals and conference proceedings and has given 25 presentations. He participated in the implementation of numerous public websites for several organizations, knowledge systems, and geographic mapping systems. He is a member of ACM at the doctoral level (in the SIGMIS and SIGCHI groups), and in the past has also been a member of IEEE and AACE. His interests generally include software solutions and computer systems, and he is the author of the first book on using the Windows operating system in Macedonia – „Windows 3.1 Basics“ in 1994. During that period, he was also an editor and author of more than one hundred articles in daily and monthly magazines. He also works with digital sound processing, composition, and arrangement, and is the author of numerous compositions published on the Internet and part of the first Macedonian electronic music compilation, „Macidonia: Class of 999,” released by PMG Recordings.
