Dr. Vesna Dimitrova
She was born in 1974 in Skopje. She completed her primary and secondary education in Skopje, consistently achieving excellent results. She graduated in June 1997 from the Institute of Informatics at PMF with a degree in Informatics, applied track, with a thesis in the field of cryptography titled “Software Implementation of Secure Communication with C Modules under UNIX,” under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Smile Markovski. a full professor at PMF. During her studies, she received a scholarship for talented students. In May 2005, she publicly defended her master's thesis titled „Quasigroup Transformations and Their Applications“ under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Smile Markovski, and in November 2010, she publicly defended her doctoral dissertation titled “Quasigroup-Processed Strings, Their Boolean Presentation, and Application in Cryptography and Coding Theory,” also under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Smile Markovski, and obtained the degree of Doctor of Informatics. She has been employed as a research associate at the Institute of Informatics, PMF, since April 2000. In February 2011, she was appointed an associate professor at the Institute of Informatics. During her tenure at the Institute of Informatics, she has taught exercises for 14 subjects. She has prepared electronic teaching materials for several subjects. She speaks and writes English, and understands German and Russian. Her area of scientific interest is cryptography, particularly quasi-group transformations and their application in cryptography. To date, she has published 19 scientific papers and has presented at over 30 conferences, symposia, congresses, seminars, schools, and workshops. She was one of the lecturers at the “Algebraic Structures and their Applications in Codding theory and Cryptography” school in Ohrid, 2009, as part of a DAAD project. She has had several academic stays: at Johannes Kepler University in Linz, Austria; the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in Sofia, Bulgaria; South Bank University in London, United Kingdom; and others. She has been a member of 8 domestic and international projects. In addition to her active teaching and research activities, she also has a significant professional expertise. She has published 9 professional papers, two technical reports, and two conference posters. She has translated and reviewed the book “Practical Cryptography” from the field of cryptography. She is a member of the ICT-ACT Association, the Association of Informaticians of Macedonia, and the Center for Digitization of the National Heritage of Macedonia at the Institute of Informatics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. She has been a member of the organizing committee for three international conferences and is the editor of the extended book of abstracts for one international conference.
