Darko Sasanski

Darko Sasanski was born on October 8, 2001, in Skopje. He completed his elementary education in Skopje with consistently excellent grades, while he completed his high school education at the „Rade Jovchevski – Korzhavin“ High School in Skopje with consistently excellent grades. In 2020, he enrolled in the undergraduate program in Software Engineering and Information Systems at the Faculty of Informatics and Computer Engineering – Skopje. He graduated in August 2024 with a grade point average of 9.67, with a thesis titled „Automatic Mapping of Ingredients from Recipe1M+ with Concepts from the FoodOn, USDA, and FooDB Ontologies“ under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Riste Stojanov.

Parallel to their studies, in June 2023, they began an engagement with IWM Network as an intern and then as a software engineer in October 2023, where they are responsible for the development and maintenance of the SaaS application: Aqtos. He also collaborates on various projects related to semantic data and its linking and mapping in the field of nutrition and food science. He has experience in web programming, the semantic web, natural language processing, and the integration of advanced NLP techniques and large language models (LLMs).

The candidate's areas of special interest are web programming, software engineering, machine learning, deep learning, the semantic web, and natural language processing.

In the 2024/2025 academic year, he enrolled in graduate studies at the Faculty of Informatics and Computer Engineering, in the Data Science in Computer Science and Engineering program. In October 2024, he was selected as a teaching assistant at the faculty.
