Dr. Igor Trajkovski graduated in 2001 at the Institute of Informatics, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University - Skopje, with high GPA (9:53). In October 2004 he obtains the title Master of Computer Science from the University of Saarland & Max Planck Institute for Informatics, Saarbrucken, Germany. His studies and research work continues at Jozef Stefan Institute, Ljubljana, Slovenia, in the Department of Knowledge Technologies, and the International Postgraduate School at the same institution, where on 14th December 2007 successfully defended his doctoral thesis and obtained the academic title Doctor of Sciences.
In continuation from 2001 until today, Dr. Trajkovski is professionally engaged at the Institute for Informatics in Skopje as a demonstrator (1999-2001), as research assistant at the University of Stuttgart (02/2002 - 09/2003), as a specialist in software development in T-mobile (10/2004 - 09/2005), as a research assistant at the Institute Jozef Stefan (10/2005 - 12/2007), as a software engineer at Google (05/2007 - 09 / 2007 and 05/2008 - 09/2008), as an assistant professor at New York University Skopje (02/2008 - 11/2009), as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (02/2010 - 09/2011) and as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering (09/2011 - present). He is also the founder/CEO of the Macedonian news aggregator Time.mk (07/2008 - today).
Dr. Trajkovski participated in several national and international competitions and olympiads in informatics, which include participation in the ACM World final programming contest, Orlando, USA, 2000 and acquired Bronze medal at Balkan Olympiad in Informatics, Cyprus, 1996. He got several scholarships for talented high school and university students and award for best student at the Institute for Informatics (1998/1999).
Scientific research work of Dr. Trajkovski is in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Bioinformatics, Parallel Algorithms and Natural Language Processing. His master and doctoral theses, are in the field of bioinformatics, and the results are published in scientific papers published in major international conferences and scientific journals.
