Objectives of the course programme (competences)

The goal of the course is to learn the digitization process and techniques. Students should master the basic principles of managing digital materials and their preservation, as well as the techniques and technologies for presenting them.

Course content

The concept of digitization. Techniques and technologies used in the digitization of various types of materials: textual records, music, images, objects. Digitization of old records and printed materials. Digitization of images and sound. Digitization, modeling, and reconstruction of 3D objects: works of art, architectural structures, archaeological and anthropological artifacts. Archiving and preservation of various types of digital materials. Techniques and technologies for presenting digitized materials.
