Objectives of the course programme (competences)

The goal of the course is to equip students with the ability to use state-of-the-art classroom techniques to capture students' interest and encourage them to acquire new knowledge during classroom instruction. Students will be trained to conduct active classroom instruction, using creative techniques appropriate to the students' ages and the material according to the curriculum.

Course content

Characteristics and peculiarities of computer science instruction. Class organization. Scientific methods in computer science instruction. Use of the ESD framework. Methods for conducting various types of classes. Presentation techniques. Developing critical thinking in students. Active teaching. Knowledge assessment. Grading. Motivation and group work.

Learning methods

Lectures using presentations, interactive lectures, exercises (using equipment and software packages), teamwork, case studies, guest lecturers, independent preparation and defense of a project assignment and a seminar paper.
