Objectives of the course programme (competences)

The student will learn the basic concepts, techniques, and tools used in the field of system security. By taking on the role of an "attacker," the student will gain knowledge of most of the security vulnerabilities in their environment and how to protect against them.

Course content

Introduction to pen testing. Steps in pen testing. Scanning, enumeration, footprinting. System hacking. Use of malware. Traffic capture and analysis. Social engineering hacking. Session hijacking. Hacking web servers and web applications. SQL Injection. Hacking mobile and wireless devices. Buffer overflow

Learning methods

Lectures supported by slide presentations, interactive lectures, practical classes (using equipment and software packages), teamwork, case studies, guest lecturers, independent preparation and defence of a project assignment and seminar paper, and learning in an electronic environment (forums and consultations).
