Objectives of the course programme (competences)

Upon completion of the course, students are expected to be proficient in basic methods of digital post-production, digital compositing, working with image sequences, integrating digital objects into images, and tracking and matching movements from various sources.

Course content

Digital post-production. Digital compositing. Pixel-level information. Digital compositing tools. Virtual cameras. Stereoscopy. Rotoscoping and other pixel isolation techniques. Removal of single-color backgrounds. Insertion of landscapes. Color removal based on key parameters. Digital masking of objects. Object and motion tracking. Motion matching. Image stabilization. Injection of digital 3D objects into an image. Particle systems. Post-production effects. Video editing. Color grading. Motion capture.

Learning methods

Lectures using presentations, interactive lectures, exercises (using equipment and software packages), teamwork, case studies, guest lecturers, independent preparation and defense of a project assignment and a seminar paper.
