| 10. | Objectives of the course programme (competences) | The goal of the course is to prepare students for independent research and preparation. on an appropriate report, as well as a transition from ordinary application to the production of scientific and research results. Upon completion of the course, the student is expected to knows the organization / structure of technical and scientific reports Knows how to use citations and references in written technical documents. - to know the process of creating an engineering and scientific paper, and to know it the process for its publication is familiar with the method of reviewing technical and scientific reports Understands the significance of current applied and scientific publications in the field. Can critically evaluate and review technical and scientific documents. can locate relevant published materials from a given field using libraries, bibliographies, internet search engines, and other sources to be able to prepare and present a brief overview of current published materials from a given scientific or technical field. |

Quality assessment, Review of scientific work, Constructive criticism, organizational and ethical rules, rules for citations and referencing, academic culture, Student-centered learning, Anti-discrimination and equal opportunities. Overview of Intellectual property and copyright law, scope and types of available publications and tools for searching and indices, citation, bibliographies, and citation search. Process of research, scientific research methods, sources of funding, proposal writing research (projects), evaluation of research project proposals, planning of research project, selecting results for publication, structuring scientific papers, the process of evaluating a scientific paper, poster and paper presentations at conferences, Publication in academic and engineering journals. Literature reviews, reading, and summarizing. relevant works, purpose and structure of a review paper, examples of prospective papers. Research philosophy. |

| 12. | Learning methods | Lectures supported by slide presentations, interactive lectures, practical classes (using equipment and software packages), teamwork, case studies, guest lecturers, independent preparation and defence of a project assignment and seminar paper, and learning in an electronic environment (forums and consultations). | ||||||||||||
