The primary goal of the course is to study the fundamentals and best practices of usage of the technology for development. The students will understand the concept of sustainable development that includes the impact on nature and society. Students will be aware of the 17 goals for sustainable development defined by the United Nations. Students will examine the opportunities for applying new technologies like mobile devices, drones, sensors in areas such as agriculture, communications, education, economy, health, governments and gender equality. Students will be able to understand the concepts of social innovation and social entrepreneurship. Students will learn how to apply methodologies for designing solutions that are human-centered and to apply the design thinking methods.
