Objectives of the course programme (competences)

Course Objectives (Competencies): Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be familiar with the evolution of learning theories and will be able to understand the role and new trends in e-learning environments and to comprehend the transition from traditional to e-learning environments. Students will acquire the ability to offer appropriate existing learning management systems, instructional content, and knowledge assessment systems for business requirements, as well as to create new innovative solutions in the field of e-learning.

Course content

Program content: Learning models/theories: Behaviorism, cognitivism, constructivism... Instructional design. Assessment and evaluation models. Basic application of ICT in education. Learning management systems and instructional materials. Examples of e-learning systems for programming and other areas. Knowledge assessment systems. Learning through computer games. The present and future of e-learning systems.

Learning methods

Lectures using presentations, interactive lectures, exercises (using equipment and software packages), teamwork, case studies, guest lecturers, independent preparation and defense of a project assignment and a seminar paper.
