Objectives of the course programme (competences)

Development of managerial skills: technical, conceptual, communication, analytical.
Adoption of frameworks, concepts, models, and techniques from the field of management.
Presentation and analysis of examples, case studies, and best management practices from multiple business areas, as well as case studies of individual businesses.

Course content

Basic concepts and definitions of management; enterprises and management; history of management science; limitations and challenges facing management today; change and innovation management; social responsibility and ethics management; managers as decision-makers; fundamentals of planning; strategic management; planning tools and techniques; traditional and contemporary types of organizational design; human resource management; career management; team management; understanding individual behavior; managers and communication; employee motivation; leadership; controlling; operations management; management in a global environment.

Learning methods

Lectures using presentations, interactive lectures, exercises (using equipment and software packages), teamwork, case studies, guest lecturers, independent preparation and defense of a project assignment and a seminar paper.
