Codes: weight-based, Gray, BCD, ASCII; Hamming distance; Hamming code (2) Boolean algebra and switching functions, logic gates, minterms, maxterms, levels of integration (1) Minimization of functions with Karnaugh maps and Quine-McCluskey (1) Analysis and design of combinational circuits, truth table, half adder, full adder (1) Coders, decoders, multiplexers and demultiplexers, ROM, PLA (2) Synchronous and asynchronous sequential circuits, clock generator, latches and flip-flops, characteristic tables and equations (2) Analysis and design of synchronous sequential circuits, equations, state table and state diagram, Moore and Mealy automata, state minimization, state encoding (2) Registers, parallel and serial loading, shift registers and counters, modulo counters, ring counters, Johnson counter | ||||||||||||
