Objectives of the course programme (competences)

The goal of the course is to familiarize students with the need for software testing, the various software modeling techniques and how to use those models for testing, as well as hands-on work in software testing, validation, and verification.

Course content

Software testing fundamentals, software validation and verification, V&V terminology and basics. Goals and limitations of V&V, V&V planning and documentation, metrics and measures, participants in the process, types of testing, static analyses and dynamic testing, functional and non-functional testing. Software modeling with graphs. Modeling of logical expressions.
Input space partitioning. Syntax modeling. Testing of object-oriented applications. Testing of web applications and web services. Contemporary trends in testing.
