10. Objectives of the course programme (competences) The increasing importance and large volume of data demand appropriate techniques and technologies for their secure, accessible, reliable, and scalable storage. Increasingly common data storage approaches are oriented toward distributed solutions whose implementations include a variety of architectures and models, thereby yielding different benefits specific to each implementation. The subject matter aims to cover the techniques at the hardware, network, and software levels for providing distributed data storage.
