Subject goals and competencies:


Knowledge of the structure of computer systems, hardware components, connection and how to work, features and standards used.

Subject content:


Introduction to the structure of computer systems. Components of computer systems. Processor families and motherboards. Chipsets and buses. Memory, I/O ports, enclosures. Internal input/output ports: controllers, serial ports, parallel ports, adapters. Mass data storage media. Computer peripherals: pointing devices, keyboards, monitors, printers, scanners, digital cameras, modems and similar Basic ways of using software and software tools, working principles of popular software tools. Network devices. Characteristics of unmanaged and managed devices. Connection on different network devices. Installation and administration of the operating system, external connections devices and driver installation.

Предавања поддржани со презентации преку слајдови, интерактивни предавања, вежби (користење на опрема и софтверски симулации), тимска работа, пример случаи, поканети гости предавачи, самостојна изработка и одбрана на проектна задача и семинарска работа, учење во електронско опкружување (форуми, консултации).
