General information

As the world we live in generates more and more data, so does the industry require people with qualifications to process and analyse this data. Data Science in computer science and engineering is a study programme that will produce the required qualified master’s in engineering that would be able to use the state-of-the-art analytical tools and methods to process and analyse data. According to recent studies, the gap between the employed and required experts in data science is increasing every year and in the projections for EU state that more than 10.000 new jobs for data scientist will be opened in the following 10 years. This gap is ever increasing since the data science positions are being opened in every small, medium and large enterprise. North Macedonia IT companies are facing a higher demand for highly skilled positions too. Students that attend this master studies will learn to turn real-world data into meaningful, data driven solutions, tools that will be able to support the decision-making in organizations and give insights to the processes in the organizations. The students will gain well balanced theoretical and practical knowledge in data science and use the latest advancements in computer science and engineering to process various types of data such as text, sound, images, as well as structured data placed in database tables from various organizations. The students will also be able to use the latest advancements of big data analytics and apply data sciences tools to large datasets. The Master's program in Data Science in computer science and engineering is created as an academic foundation for deepening the knowledge needed to advance in the field of Data Science in computer science and engineering. With today's development of new information technologies, it is necessary to deepen the knowledge in the field of Data Science in computer science and engineering and raise it to a higher level. By acquiring that new knowledge, as well as by acquiring new skills, students will be able to deal with new challenges in the given field after graduation. As the society produces much more data than before, a skilled data scientist will be needed in every organization and company in order to enable the management and the decision makers to optimize their processes and make informed decisions based on the available data.
